[DSZ - The Surgery]

Quite weird; really distorted ;)

I'm not such a fan of distorted stuff, but this seems really cool! The drums got a little repetitive in the beginning. And the guitar/bass too. Especially when they were like playing one note for a LOOONG time. Not to bug you or anything, it got pretty annoying if you ask me. This is pretty neat. Good job.

Very, VERY distorted

This is a pretty cool song. The bass was really cool, sort of like a DnB bass. It was a bit annoying, but no biggie. I hate that "psssh" thing. That's what brought down the clarity score. Need drum samples!!! I hate the fl presets, it's just that everybody uses them and it gets very unoriginal. Still, this song is very original. So, keep up the good work.

Haha, that's fine, I've got some new samples now anyway. My friend and I put together some of our money to buy the "Super Drums 8000" CD from SampleFusion. I probably should have just used samples from some of those Computer Music DVDs I have lying around, but it doesn't matter.

I can't take credit for the bass, I just used any sytrus preset I could find. This was Pure PWM, with the X Mod turned to its lowest setting. I was getting things all messed up and out of time as well, but I guess we all have to learn somehow...

Sweet; bass got annoying a little :(

This is an amazing song. Very energetic. However, things got to be a little repetitive after the first minute. But that's no biggie. Nice bass. It was very charming. The only critique about it is that it gets kind of annoying with all those crazy bass melodies. But still, this is a great piece. Keep up the good work.

Arg. This is why I rarely go to the video game section. Because a lot of them are remakes, but usually people just put in synthesizers with the melody and put in drums. It's so very annoying. God synthesizers you chose by the way. There was no distortion, so that was good. Seems to be a bit repetitive, but that's not a problem. It's video game music. It's suppose to be repetitive. Good work on this. You should try to make more melodies on your own rather than copying the music from video games. I'm not sure you do this, but just in case.

I use to try some trance but I am not good at it, and I had several reviews that I should stay in VG remakes so thats what I am doing it, anyway I do that for the fun, and for people thats like it, anyway, thanks for the review.

Good Job; Very repeatitive

Nice little song you got here. The synthesizers were quite good and very smooth. Nice drums, you could have a go with other samples rather than having the fl presets. They are very recognizable. That's what brought done the originality score down. Good melodies you have there. They may not be yours because you remake video game songs. So I'm just guessing that you did SOME of the melody work. And one last thing, WAY repetitive. It needs more variety. You got great potential, but you just need to make some more original things when you remake a song. Good job mate. Keep up the good work!

Awesome work; Needs more melodies

Great track! The beat was slick, but not so original. You need more drums. All you have that I can hear is a Kick, Clap, and a Hihat. It got boring. But it was still very slick. I love her voice :) She's a natual. Good lyrics. Did you make them yourself? This is particulary a trance song. It's too airey for techno. One of the synths that was playing seemed a bit off. Like the pitch I beleive. I love that pad, very smooth and calming. It's been repeating the same chords over and over again throughout the song. That got kind of boring. This is still a great song! Keep up the great work!

Very Nice; Was a bit distorted at the end.

This is an excellent piece MaestroRage! You used a variety of strings and a bit of synths. The percussion was a bit soft, you should put more volume for it. The plucked strings were touching, a bit repeatitive, but very well done. Needs more reverb, it sounded a bit plain. Great choir, but when they hit the high notes, it became a little distorted. That's a no biggie. People wouldn't recognize it, but I did. (I using some really good headphones). The ending was great! But when the tom did a double hit, there were some distortion so that's what brought done the clariety level. Overall, you did a neat job MaestroRage! I would love to hear up coming pieces! Keep up the great work!

I need to get me some REALLY good headphones. And some slick speakers. Need to get my mixing up to another level!

If I added more reverb to the strings, they would become muddled. I have tried, so hard :'(. It was simply not happening at my skill level.

I also don't hear any distortion, so thats really interesting. I should get somebody with some sweet headphones/speakers to listen to my tunes before I put them up here. Thanks for the heads up on that department.

Cool; Needs less distortion on bass.

Cool song. It has sort of a dark/evil feeling to it. However, it did repeat a lot. The second bass that comes in was WAY to distorted. In Drum N Bass, things dont necessarily need to be: Phat Basses, Heavy synths, and all those kind of things. I could see this being an Ambient Drum N bass, but you need less distortion, and more varity on the drums. The drum preset you used was a bit plain. Try finding some other loops in google. Im not sure where yet, but I bet you can find wave files of it. Good job on this song dude, keep up the good work.

I'm glad to hear that you thought it had a dark and evil feeling; that's the sort of thing I was getting at in making the piece. Right now I'm working on something to do with pie, butit isn't really coming out that well. After that I think I'll actually start TRYING on my tracks. Anyway, I'm glad you liked the music and I'll have a look on google for more drumloops to utilise. Thanks for the review, and I'll try to be less repetitive in my work.

Neat; Could use some more synths

Neat song. The intro was impressively done. But I was expecting a little longer intro, I guess it's just me. Basses were annoying, it repeated a lot. It was really loud, louder than it needs to be. The drums were ok, a bit soft, but no biggie. Also, it needs some more synths! And that synth that plays sometimes was off key. And, you need more synths than just the bass and synth. Neat job on this song. But it could use more diversity.

Thanks for the review. This track didn't really come out the way I intended it to, but I still think it's all right. I've got another piece coming up; I don't know whether you would look on it as better or worse. This one annoys me a bit in that it doesn't loop very well. I guess I'll just get better as I go along.

Not Bad; But a bit annoying.

Not a bad song. A bit catchy. A lot of it was really repeatitive. Especially the drums and the bass. Change it up a little bit, and add some percussions. (Example, some more C-hihats, a little toms, etc.) The voice was REALLY annoying in the beginning. That's what brought down the overall score. This has great potential, but it needs to become less repeatitive. Still, good job, and keep up the good work.
